Last month we promised we would share more about the children’s camp we will be hosting in the Dominican Republic this summer.  We’ve been working very hard on the preparation for the camp.  It has proven to be quite a bit more work then we had anticipated, but we’re so excited about all that God has in store for the kids during their week of camp.
There are approximately 130 children ages 9 through 17 registered for the camp.  Our home church in Vero Beach, FL and another church from Rock Hill, SC are helping us run the camp.  The focus of the camp is to teach the children about their identity in Christ.  Throughout the day, they will participate in teachings, worship, small groups and a variety of workshops and activities.  The workshops will be fun, educational sessions on such things as:  sewing, woodworking, volleyball, basketball, dance, art, crafts, swimming, etc.  The children will be divided into groups of about 12-15 kids and they will have the opportunity to participate in many different types of activities each day.  The two mission teams, who will function as staff for the camp, have been working hard preparing fun and dynamic lessons as well as preparing for the workshops they will be leading.  There is a lot of excitement, both on the part of the children and the staff!
Please keep us in prayer for this very special event.  Specifically, please pray for health and protection for our family, the mission team members and all the children involved.  Also pray that the children would be impacted by the truth of God’s Word and the revelation of how God sees them.  In a few days we will leave for the Dominican Republic where we will spend the next 6 weeks in ministry.  We look forward to reporting next month from the Dominican.
Blessings,
Dan, Shana, Joshua and Gabriel
